Let me preface this post by saying that while this brings me MUCH joy, I did not set this goal for myself to earn bragging rights… by NO means. I’ve struggled with exactly how to publish this information, but the time is now; and I CANNOT BE-lieve it has taken me almost 4 months to blog about one of my most exciting moments of 2013!!! In September 2013, I became one of less than 2,000 Certified Professional Photographers (CPP) recognized nationwide by Professional Photographers of America (PPA). I did this because I wanted to show commitment to the photography industry and my clients!!! And I couldn’t have done it without the support of so many! I’m especially thankful for my family and friends who encouraged me to go for it, and of course my clients who provided images along the way for my CPP portfolio!!!
In order to become certified I had to 1) complete a written examination measuring artistic and technical knowledge of photography, and 2) enter my portfolio in a rigorous image submission to be judged at a national level by some of PPA’s most respected photographers, as judges. And just as with other professions on retaining their certification status, I am required to renew my certification periodically ensuring the confidence in the professionalism of Certified Professional Photographers nationwide.
So without further ado… I can, and am now signing everything with the letters “CPP” following my name!
