I am going to be an AUNT!!!! For the first time!!! And my son will have his first, 1st cousin!!! My brother and sister-in-law have accepted the call in their lives to adopt a child. They have struggled with infertility for about 4 years, with heartache after heartache, even with medical help. About 1.5 years ago, the doctors finally discovered, and broke the news to them that having biological children is not an option for them. Cue the physical, emotional, and spiritual struggle for the both of them; the wrestling match with God. But He has been working in their lives; and, He has opened their hearts COMPLETELY now to adoption!!!!!
I wish I could just donate thousands and thousands of dollars to them, but I can’t. I know God was not only working on my brother and SIL, but it has also worked a number over on ME!!! To develop in me a more giving and EMPATHETIC heart. And seriously, there are days I completely lose it (YES! I lose it quite often. lol) wondering how we can continue to live on one salary (PTL for it though!) and homeschool… and provide a life for our son that somewhat keeps up with this modern world. LOL! What’s left of my photography business helps foot a bill or two, yes, but the older our boy becomes, the more involved his curriculum becomes and his extra-curricular activities. So, as hard as it is for me, I’m having to slowly downsize what I was doing with photography. If you know me– my Type A-ness, and my go-getter self– THIS IS SO HARD FOR ME!!!!! I feel like I should be able to just do it all! But I can’t. I need to sleep. Hahaha! I’ve slowly been broken down; and I’m where I’m supposed to be right now… and I fully accept this calling from God!
So what does all of this have to do with adoption??? I’m so thankful you have followed along so far! So… as you just heard, our lifestyle does not allow us to just freely shower them with money. And, you’ve probably seen too that I’ve fallen in love with essential oils. I’ve done some research and found many success stories about how certain ladies were able to help friends and family members finance adoptions. Maybe not fully, but a least HELP. Which is where my heart has been led in this journey with my brother!!! So, I’ve decided to try my hand at bringing home Baby Feltman through a means of fundraising that I absolutely have become a believer in, 100%. This will be more than I could just straight up GIVE to them from my pocket so I’ve decided to look up some GoFundMe ideas!
