I’ve just returned from a wonderful week in Idaho, visiting two Young Living farms, and being a part of their Spring Planting event! We did some work around the farms and also went through several trainings. One training in particular was by a holistic practitioner, and she opened her training by providing us all with “pond water”, to help cool us off after a hot day on the farm (we had warm, WONDERFUL weather while there!). I knew as soon as I tasted it, that I would be replicating it when I returned home. Today was the day! She didn’t share her exact recipe, but I used the same jar as she did (1/2 gallon glass jar) and felt confident I could just add what it needed, based on observation and taste. ha! Here is the recipe:
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds per cup of water
- 1/4- 1/2 squeezed lemon, depending on taste
- 2 drops of Young Living peppermint vitality essential oil (for 1/2 gallon)
- 1 teaspoon liquid chlorophyll per cup of water
- 3- 3 inch sprigs of organic mint for a 1/2 gallon jar, or to taste
- Water, of course
Allow the mixture to sit for about 2 hours at room temperature before drinking. Drink at room temperature, but it would also be good chilled a bit! I will refrigerate what we do not drink right away.
Why chlorophyll? Rather than re-invent the wheel, I would like to direct you to this website for information. It’s so good for you! Click here. I purchased the chlorophyll at my local, natural grocery store.
And peppermint essential oil (EO)… for centuries it has been used to soothe digestive difficulties, and provides a cooling sensation, which is why it fits this recipe so perfectly! The benefits of peppermint EO do not stop there, though. Make sure you look into it! Click here to purchase the oil.
Enjoy this refreshing, summer drink!
