During 2012, I had the opportunity to second shoot quite a few weddings with my friend and fellow photographer Courtney Dox! One of my favorites was at a beautiful location, The Farm– A Gathering Place, in Asheville, NC. I’m telling ya, if I could marry my husband all over again, I would TOTALLY mirror this beautiful wedding!!! I took MANY mental notes! HA It was rustic first of all; and that is ALL me!!! The bride, groom, and wedding party all occupied the quaint, little log cabins which were nestled so neatly into the perfect wooded area! The outdoor ceremony consisted of an archway made out of mountain laurel branches leading the way to the gazebo under which the actual ceremony took place; the reception was held in a barn turned event hall… enclosed if need be, or the perfect layout to allow it to be open-air if the season is right! And all surrounded by the beautiful Appalachian mountains! Ahhhhhhh. And to top it all off, the bride, Ali, did a WONDERFUL job relaying her ideas to be brought to life by her event planner! Her details were spot on rustic! There was a biscuit bar and bourbon tasting for cocktail hour; and a bluegrass/ country band to entertain throughout the night! There were cowboy boots, burlap, shrimp-n-grits, tomato pie, meatloaf, fried green tomatoes, collard greens, and black eyed peas; and even cotton thrown into the air during the grand exit! OH… and in place of a traditional wedding cake, they had a PIE BAR with a crazy amount of different pies to be topped with BRYERS VANILLA ICE CREAM. Helloooo HEAVEN!!! Check out some of the amazing photos I was able to snag throughout the day! Thanks again Courtney for entrusting me to represent your business as second shooter!!!
OH… and I forgot to mention… the CUTEST little doggie dog escort! 🙂
