YIKES– well I missed my Wednesday post due to it being a holiday, but I’m making up for it, because I. CAN. DO. THIS once a week blogging!!! 🙂 I hope you all had a wonderful and safe July 4th! We sure did! I love July 4th because it makes me stop in my tracks and just be still; be still and take in all that I have been afforded in this life!!! And makes me think of and pray for our troops and every soldier out there who has ever fought or is still fighting for America today; what a wonderful country we live in and all because of those who believe it is worth fighting for!!! Thank you for believing in America!
July 4th also solidifies that summer is HERE! 🙂 I. love. summer! I love the warm (ok, hot.) temperatures! I would rather it be hot than cold any day! And July 4th brings along all the fun that accompanies summer! Last night we spent the evening on Lake Greenwood with some friends watching a fantastic fireworks show! Wow. They really know how to do it right! 🙂 I took my camera along, however I struggled figuring out just how to capture some of the fireworks. I knew from the start however that of course, it would be pitch dark, which presents a major challenge. But anyways, I was able to play with my camera AND spend some time with my family which made for a wonderful evening! Here are a few shots that I did manage to capture!
I was simply amazed at the number of boats that came out for the show! As you can put together from this post so far, this was my first fireworks show from a boat! lol Something that is pretty common around these parts! This picture was taken in the pitch black darkness using my awesome camera’s (NIkon D700) ISO capability ! ISO 6400; 1/40th at f/4.0 then enhanced a bit more in Adobe Lightroom. It’s not the best image in the world but it serves it’s purpose– LOOK AT ALL THE BOATS! LOL And of course, pictures don’t do it any justice.
Happy summertime!
