Zach and Emily | Mason Farm at River’s Edge Wedding

Weddings

5 Jul

You may remember Zach and Emily from their engagement session! Well… I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding day on June 21, 2014! They were married in Dalton, GA at Mason Farm at River’s Edge, Northwest Georgia’s premier event and wedding venue. It was a GORGEOUS and FUUUUN wedding, as you are about to see in photos! Surely one for the history books of my business. 🙂 They didn’t let a little rain ruin their wedding day; they made the most of it!!!  So, sit back and enjoy Zach and Emily’s wedding day! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography I. AM. SO. IN. LOVE with these colors! And the florals for the entire wedding were spectacular! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography These gals were so much fun! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Zach and Emily opted to do a “first glance” and I’m SO glad they did! Not only for such sweet pictures of their intimate moment together, but we were also able to knock out all of the wedding formal photos before the rain storm!!! I love that her dad helped her with her dress across the rocks; ugh, SO sweet!!! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Zach and Emily, you guys are the cutest!!! The ceremony was scheduled to begin at 5pm. Well at 4:58pm the bottom fell out and the RAINS CAME DOWN on this wedding day and outdoor wedding ceremony, mind you. Now… the guest seating area was half covered with an awning and the other half was exposed, so thankfully the guests were out of the rain! And while everyone entered freak out mode, Emily was cool as a cucumber and decided after checking the radar that they would wait it out a bit and proceed with their outdoor ceremony when a break in the rain came! (I think she just secretly wanted SO badly to walk through the fabulous barn doors of this venue!) So we waited about 30 minutes and we got that break in the rain!!! And from then everyone was in RUSH mode! lol Guests rushed out and helped dry off the chairs where the family was to be seated; and then the wedding processional began… to the PERFECT song too! “Here comes the sun! do, do, do, do!” The wedding party was all but RUNNING down the aisle. WHEW! lol And Emily’s father gave her away… and well… you can see from the pictures how the rest of the story goes! HA Bless their hearts… it started raining AGAIN! So we picked up the ceremony and moved it all indoors. (It’s moments like this that I’m so thankful to have a second photographer on board with me at weddings! (because I had to be set up outside the doors ready for the front view!) Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Zach and Emily enjoyed a honeymoon at Disney World, and Zach wanted a cookie instead of cake for his “grooms cake” so voilà~ a Disney Great American Cookie Company groom’s cookie! A few pictures from today! These boys had a great day at the high school division Phantom Open on Lake Murray representing the PAC Panthers! This was a state-wide tournament and there were around 150 teams total. They came home with 5th place- a 5-fish limit bag weighing 21.47lbs!

I love experiencing ‘firsts’ with my child; always have. And that doesn’t stop when they are teenagers. 🥰 February 21, 2026 was Gus’ first reenactment- the Battle of Aiken! You can tell by the black powder on his face, too, as that is the initiation. 😁

He planned for this day for a year. One of his buddies briefly mentioned after the 2025 one that they should look into being involved. Well, that conversation sparked a drive in this boy! Although the friend didn’t go onto being involved, Gus knew he would! So he saved up some money and purchased his gear.

At the last minute, the unit he was originally registered with backed out of attending due to potential bad weather. So that left us scrambling. We told him not to worry and to just pack the vehicle with all his gear and we would just drive on to Aiken and figure it out when we get there. 😅 And by divine intervention, I’m sure of it, he ended up with the most wonderful unit of reenactors that he will continue with now, for years to come. 🙌🙏

PS: he had his heart set on representing the South, but his unit was drafted to portray Union federalists at the last minute. 🤪

A couple weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to be able to get away for a couple days with my grandma, mama, and two of my aunts! Such a blessing!!! 💜 We perused the beach for shells and at night played the game ‘Taco, Goat, Cat, Cheese, Pizza’ (there were only two games provided in the house 🤣); all of us came away with some type of bruise. 🤣 We also had the Stone family famous shrimp ‘n grits for breakfast one morning! This trip was such a treasure!
