Zach and Emily | Mason Farm at River’s Edge Wedding

Weddings

5 Jul

You may remember Zach and Emily from their engagement session! Well… I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding day on June 21, 2014! They were married in Dalton, GA at Mason Farm at River’s Edge, Northwest Georgia’s premier event and wedding venue. It was a GORGEOUS and FUUUUN wedding, as you are about to see in photos! Surely one for the history books of my business. 🙂 They didn’t let a little rain ruin their wedding day; they made the most of it!!!  So, sit back and enjoy Zach and Emily’s wedding day! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Emily’s dress was sooo beautiful! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography I. AM. SO. IN. LOVE with these colors! And the florals for the entire wedding were spectacular! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography These gals were so much fun! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Zach and Emily opted to do a “first glance” and I’m SO glad they did! Not only for such sweet pictures of their intimate moment together, but we were also able to knock out all of the wedding formal photos before the rain storm!!! I love that her dad helped her with her dress across the rocks; ugh, SO sweet!!! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Zach and Emily, you guys are the cutest!!! Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography So before we start with the next series of photos, this is when the craziness began! The ceremony was scheduled to begin at 5pm. Well at 4:58pm the bottom fell out and the RAINS CAME DOWN on this wedding day and outdoor wedding ceremony, mind you. Now… the guest seating area was half covered with an awning and the other half was exposed, so thankfully the guests were out of the rain! And while everyone entered freak out mode, Emily was cool as a cucumber and decided after checking the radar that they would wait it out a bit and proceed with their outdoor ceremony when a break in the rain came! (I think she just secretly wanted SO badly to walk through the fabulous barn doors of this venue!) So we waited about 30 minutes and we got that break in the rain!!! And from then everyone was in RUSH mode! lol Guests rushed out and helped dry off the chairs where the family was to be seated; and then the wedding processional began… to the PERFECT song too! “Here comes the sun! do, do, do, do!” The wedding party was all but RUNNING down the aisle. WHEW! lol And Emily’s father gave her away… and well… you can see from the pictures how the rest of the story goes! HA Bless their hearts… it started raining AGAIN! So we picked up the ceremony and moved it all indoors. (It’s moments like this that I’m so thankful to have a second photographer on board with me at weddings! (because I had to be set up outside the doors ready for the front view!) Georgia Wedding | Charlotte Ashley Photography Zach and Emily enjoyed a honeymoon at Disney World, and Zach wanted a cookie instead of cake for his “grooms cake” so voilà~ a Disney Great American Cookie Company groom’s cookie! 🌻🍉 Summer Photo Dump 6 🍉🌻

Mid-July we got the family together out on the river! We got all set up on a sandbar for the day, to be able to just chill- have a picnic and let the littles play their hearts out. Well… that was our hopes at least. 🤦‍♀️🫠 About an hour later, ALLLLL the boats showed up (group of friends) and just beached it right where we were swimming with the kids. I will never understand this… I am just of the mindset if you missed out on the sandbar, you missed out. Not… “well, we’ll just squeeze right in here on top of y’all.” But whatever. 😵‍💫 AmIright? Is that not the unwritten, understood law of the river rats? 🤣

🌻🍉 Summer Photo Dump 5 🍉🌻

Beach days are the best days!!! We were able to make 2 different day trips to the coast this summer.

1. We are thankful for sweet friends who allow us to crash their family camping vacation for a day! 🤣

2. And we are thankful for another group who are willing to up and haul their families to the coast for a day, too! 🤗

Two of my fellow Clemson forestry/ wildlife pals and I managed to take that girls’ trip we had been chatting about for a while! It was so good for the soul!!! We went owling at night, and just looking for all the critters we could find. 😁

Our old-soul, mancub hit a milestone birthday this summer. So, as an early birthday present, we hesitantly (😅) decided to take him and a friend to a Hank Jr. concert, since they are both big fans. Our thought process: “Hank Jr. is old now… sure his music is timeless, but it’s bound to draw an older, more calm crowd nowadays.” NOPE. 😆🥴

The trip morphed into a group trip with the friend’s parents and sister, and my dad joined us, too! All was well until a thunderstorm sent everyone to the concessions area where we were packed in like sardines for TWO HOURS to avoid the lightening and rain best we could. 😳 Well, you can only imagine most people there had only one thing to do during the two hour wait, so that by the time we could return to our seats, it was quite the scene. 🙈 Our sweet, sheltered homeschooled children were awakened to some of the ways of the world that night, for sure. 🤣🥴 Gracious!!!

But alas, Hank came out on stage and was GREAT, even still as an older man in his 70’s. He played alllll the instruments, and even still could throw his leg up on the piano! 🤣😳

The boys ended their first year of fishing for PAC last April in 10th place; which was amazing for them! They overcame many obstacles and learned to fish better as partners. This particular tournament happened to fall on Jason’s birthday (he’s their boat captain), so our friends camping close-by helped him celebrate. 🤣😁

In April, we ventured to Beaufort with my family to see the Blue Angels in action. 🤩 They were awesome to see in person!
