The winner of the Starbucks egift is (courtesy of random.org)…

Kathleen Updike: “Things I’ve put on the back burner lately include, sorting through my mountain of clean clothes (keep vs. donate), changing burnt out light bulbs in my house (getting kinda dark in here) and cleaning out my car (it’s seen a lot of miles this summer). Love your pics and wish you were closer to take some of my fam.”

Congratulations Kathleen! And thank you all for entering! I will be doing this more often! SO fun!!!

OH. my. gosh! I started browsing my blog this evening and have never been so ashamed at the lack of TLC it has received lately.  I realized just how much I’ve neglected it, when I realized I’ve failed to post SEVERAL sessions from the past… ohhh… 7 months. *GASP*  I know, I know… HOW horrible?!?!!! I’ll be honest, life as a wife, mommy of a now 4 year old, and photographer is quite… hmm, what’s the word?… adventurous, tiresome, (is that a word?!) awesome, exciting, and just plain out HARD. There; I said it. Some things just have to be put on the back burner and the poor blog was it. 🙁  AND… because I know I’ll be up way too late doing what I love so much, I’ll surely be partaking in my share of coffee in the morning! I especially love treating myself to Starbucks now and then, and I want to treat one of you to a little Starbucks egift! So… all you need to do is comment on this post and tell me what are some of the things that you have put on the back burner lately? Be sure to leave me your email address so I can send it! I’ll announce a winner Monday, by 2pm!

So without further ado… I decided to start my blog ‘catch-up’ with sweet 6 month old baby Paxton. What a little ham he was for me!!! You’ll see exactly what I’m talking about when you scroll through the pictures.  I’ve been so fortunate to watch his parents grow from high school sweethearts to now the sweetest of parents.  Baby Paxton is one loved little squirt! I absolutely enjoyed every moment of photographing this sweet face, and I’m so excited to announce that this is not the last time you’ll see it! YAY!  Way back when, they booked my baby plan… so you have seen, their engagement, their wedding, their maternity session, their newborn session, and now this… the 6 month session!  In a few more months you’ll be witnessing his 1st birthday!  Enjoy this sweetness! PS: Many props to Ashley of Ashley Uhl Photography for allowing me to utilize her studio space for the first portion!

What a handsome little man! My girl will also be 4 next month, and I’m definitely missing her baby days 🙁 This month I’m putting school on the back burner! After 2 months of summer classes, my little one needed some fun time (and so did her mom!). I’ll be going back in August, but it was nice to have a break 🙂

Hey! I have been putting school in the back burner as well. I have decided I will be going back in August. I got married and bought a house now to finish my life long dreams. Sometimes I put my needs on the back burner for my family. Good Luck to everyone:)

I would say house cleaning and decluttering. This summer has been busy with the girls dancing and I thought 2 graduate classes.

I’ve definitely put packing on the backburner. I move to Greenville in less than two weeks and I have done nothing. I I was going to try to have a yard sale with all of the stuff I don’t need anymore, but I guess that will just have to wait until later this fall!

His smile is great! Love the tie pic 🙂 I need to bring C back down to visit so you and Regan can snap some shots of him. I’ve definitely put a lot on the backburner to spend time helping C learn to crawl. I didn’t plant any flowers this spring/summer, and I’ve been dreading going down to the basement to iron for a few days..uhh weeks…ha!

I love experiencing ‘firsts’ with my child; always have. And that doesn’t stop when they are teenagers. 🥰 February 21, 2026 was Gus’ first reenactment- the Battle of Aiken! You can tell by the black powder on his face, too, as that is the initiation. 😁

He planned for this day for a year. One of his buddies briefly mentioned after the 2025 one that they should look into being involved. Well, that conversation sparked a drive in this boy! Although the friend didn’t go onto being involved, Gus knew he would! So he saved up some money and purchased his gear.

At the last minute, the unit he was originally registered with backed out of attending due to potential bad weather. So that left us scrambling. We told him not to worry and to just pack the vehicle with all his gear and we would just drive on to Aiken and figure it out when we get there. 😅 And by divine intervention, I’m sure of it, he ended up with the most wonderful unit of reenactors that he will continue with now, for years to come. 🙌🙏

PS: he had his heart set on representing the South, but his unit was drafted to portray Union federalists at the last minute. 🤪

A couple weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to be able to get away for a couple days with my grandma, mama, and two of my aunts! Such a blessing!!! 💜 We perused the beach for shells and at night played the game ‘Taco, Goat, Cat, Cheese, Pizza’ (there were only two games provided in the house 🤣); all of us came away with some type of bruise. 🤣 We also had the Stone family famous shrimp ‘n grits for breakfast one morning! This trip was such a treasure!

These fellas had a heckuva start to their fishing tournament season this past Saturday. 😅 First, their typical boat captain was under the weather, so had to play switch-a-roo on boat *and* captain. Then, about 11am during the tournament the boat they were in broke down, leaving them only the section of the lake they could access with the trolling motor. Thankfully, a fellow team boat captain (and our church pastor!) was able to return his anglers to weigh-in, then make the run across the lake to snatch up these two fellas and get them to the dock in time for weigh-in. SHEW Y’ALL! 😅😵‍💫 They still managed 4 of the 5 fish limit with 10.04 lbs. 🙌
